Fifty Shades Of Grey: Official First Trailer

Today the first official trailer for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is released and it focuses very highly on the fact that this book/movie is focused around the sexual dynamics of its two main characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel.

Watch it here:

I have been uncertain about how I feel about this movie being made and regardless of how the trailer was presented I am curious to see how this movie will be done.  I start out disappointed in this trailer because it doesn't show Ana falling into Christian's office which is the introduction to the book that I have in my which I was hoping for once it started with their meeting. I did really like how they used the the song "Crazy in Love" as it set a specific tone for the trailer, which I hope is not false advertising for the tone of the movie.

I am interested to see if the hype for the books will stay up through the release of the movie, because to me it seems like they made it a few years too late and that the buzz for these books has died down considerable.  Anyway are you excited for this movie to come out?

How to Train Your Dragon 2: Trailer

Watch the How to Train Your Dragon 2 Trailer here:

How to Train Your Dragon (2010) is one of my favorite animated movies of the last decade and I have been excited to see the sequel since I first heard it was being made.  It follows Hiccup and Toothless as they have aged a few years and have defiantly become closure.  I am interested to see where the story goes, and I hope that it all comes together well especially whit the addition of Hiccup's mother.  I really hope this one doesn't let me down because the first one was so fantastic.  If you haven't see it you definitely should.

Veronica Mars: The movie (2014) Trailer

See the new Veronica Mars Theatrical Trailer- that I got really excited seeing when I saw my Friday Night Movie.

After many years of waiting and a successful Kickstarter campaign the Veronica Mars movie is soon to be here.  Being released on March 14th, you can see this young sleuth who has been setting her adult life up is drawn back into her former habits.  Although I was never one of those people who kept pushing for this movie to be made, I am happy that they have and am looking forward to seeing come out this soon.

Frozen (2013): Trailer

This Thanksgiving the new Disney animated movie Frozen comes out and I am excited for it.
Watch the trailer here:

Ever since I saw the first teaser trailer for this movie with the snowman and the Moose I have been interested to see what they would do with this movie.  For me there really hasn't been an animated movie released that recently that I wanted to see, I am glad that this one looks fun enough to go see and from what the trailers look like it will be exactly what a little girl would want to see coming up on the Christmas holiday. Check out my review which should be up over the Thanksgiving weekend because I am looking forward to seeing this movie.

X Men: Days of Future Past Offical Trailer

Yesterday the Official Trailer for X Men: Days of Future Past was released
Watch here

In it we see how they are planning to bring the two portions of the time line (older and younger reincarnations) interact together, with Wolverine going back in time to help Professor X become the man he needs to be.  We don't really see a lot of what is going to happen but get glimpse of the old characters coming back as well as glimpse of the new ones who are being added.  I am excited for this one and love a good comic book action movie.

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier (2014): Offical Trailer

Today the official trailer for Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier was released
Watch Now

I for one am very excited for the next Captain America movie to come out, as Chris Evans really stole my heart in the first on and continued to do the same in The Avengers.  This trailer gives us a glimpse of what is coming in The Winter Soldier and I am hoping that it really does deliver.  We see that Captain America is starting to question what is going on and that he comes across some people who are no-good-doers.  Anyone else looking forward to seeing Cap take the lead again?

Gravity (2013): Review

I decided that if I wanted to see Gravity, which I did, that it was probably worth going to see it in IMAX 3D to get the full effect and therefore that is what I have done.  going into the movie I was hoping for a lot, A) because it stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney who are both good actors, B) I have heard a lot of about the effort that went into the special effects and zero gravity simulations, and C) I tend to like destroys in space movies.  Although this movie is not the best of the year, it was very good and I was kept interested throughout the entire film.
Gravity is set around Dr. Ryan Stone, played by Sandra Bullock, who is on her first space excursion because she is there doing updates on the Hubble Telescope, she is uneasy in space but is being led through this experience by veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski, there are a few other voices in the movie (i.e. Houston control) but the movies is basically these two with the focus on Bullock. While they are outside the space shuttle doing an update on the telescope they are hit by flying shrapnel from a Russian satellite that was destroyed because it was defunct.  This destroys the space shuttle, sends Dr. Stone drifting and separates her from Kowalski.  Stone has to try and survive this ordeal, while trying to be kept calm by Kowalski, dealing with her own internal demons and trying to get back to Terra Firma.  While this is all happening there are lots of space scapes, views of Earth from space, and zero gravity effects.
I will start with Sandra Bullock, who was basically the focus on the entire movie and its main star (you could consider the views and space as the co-star) and she did a wonderful job in this movie.  I think that she is a fantastic actress and it can be very difficulty to carry a whole movie by oneself and I think she does a great job.  There are even moments where she connects with the audience even when it is just her voice doing the work in the scene.  She got me to care about her, feel some of her emotions (more as the movie went on, in the beginning not so much as the peril starts early on and I hadn't really been drawn in at this point yet), and hope that she is able to pull it off and survive.
The special effects in this movie were pretty good and you can see all the time and effort that went into everything, at times it does have that computer generated edge to it but overall it was very good.  It was the zero gravity effects (water droplets/ items floating) and internal space station shots that seemed the most obvious to me). At times the zero gravity and how things moved seemed a bit off but that may have been more me then anything.  I have it in my head how people should move in zero gravity (this goes back to my days of wanting to be an astronaut, going to space camp, and seeing actual film of people in space) and at to me it seemed like she was always too much centered in things and at times she seemed anchored but didn't have a hand or foot on anything, but this wasn't rally that big of a deal.
I enjoyed this movie and it kept me interested throughout the who thing.  There was a moment where I was irritated, and though come on that would never happen, but they were able to bring it back to okay for me, at times I would get ahead of what she should be trying and would go come on move a bit faster you are in survival mode, but overall it was fair paced.  Like I mentioned earlier this was basically because of Sandra Bullock and her acting ability.
I went and saw this movie in 3D and I think that if you are going to see this movie it is worth the extra few dollars.  With the 3D you are able to see the dimensions of things, the depth into space and have the zero gravity floating objects actually seem like they are float around.

My Rating: 3-

Ender's Game (2003) Destroy TV Spot

Recently a new television spot for Ender's Game was released.
Watch below:

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug (2013): Main Trailer

The new trailer for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug was released today.
Watch below

To be honest I don't really care what the trailer is about or shows, as it doesn't really show much, what it really does is get me excited for all of the holiday movies that are coming out and especially this one.  As the Hobbit book was made into three movies and not one, I am expecting lots of fighting as filler and amazing scenescapes and beautiful cinematography (as in the previous one). This trailer hints at some of the squabbles amounts the group and shows that Legolas will be there more then just show.  I am looking forward to the parts with the dragon and seeing Martin Freeman continue as a fantastic Bilbo.  Is anyone else excited for its early December release?

Don Jon (2013): Official Trailer #2

The second official (short) trailer for Don Jon was released today
Watch below:

This doesn't really give any new information about the movie, but it does focus on the relationship between the two main characters.  If you don't know already Don Jon is the full length directorial and writer debut of Joseph Gordon-Levitt.  In this movie he plays a Jersey boy who is addicted to porn and meets the girl of his dreams, played by Scarlet Johansson, who is addicted to romance movies.  This trailer just gives more of the premise and shows the other main cast.  I am looking forward to seeing this movie and have been since I learned about it last year when my little sister was an daily extra on it.
I am hoping this is as good as I hear it is.

Ender's Game Official Trailer #2

Today when I was at the movies I saw the new trailer for Ender's Game and it just increases my excitement for this movie.
Watch Below

I have just read the book Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card and now I don't want to have to wait until November 1st to see the movie.  When I saw the first trailer it seemed like the type of movie that I really would like.  Now when I see this trailer it just adds to my excitement as it looks to be a stunning film with great cinematography and wide scope when watching the space battles.  I love Harrison Ford as an actors and am looking forward to seeing him play Colonel Graff and although Asa Butterfield is older then Ender in the book, I think he will be able to get me emotionally attached to his character.  This movie has a supporting cast with Hailey Steinfeld as Petra, Abigail Breslin as Valentine, Ben Kinsley as Mazer Rackham, and Viola Davis as Major Anderson.  I hope that this movie is able to meet my expectations and will be a great kick off to the holiday movie season.

Thor 2: The Dark World: Trailer

The new Thor: The Dark World Trailer has been released
Watch it below:

This trailer seems to expand a bit on the previous trailer and show a little more about the snippets that were previously released.  Besides this slight expansion it seems to really focus on the peril of the characters and the need for Thor to not only save earth but the Asgard from being taken over presumably by evil.  It also focused more on Loki and how everyone is watching him and expecting him to betray his brother.
Who's excited for the continuation of Marvel's phase 2 with Thor 2: The Dark World

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug: Official Trailer #2

I know that this trailer came out last month but I am still really excited for this movie...
Watch below

This second trailer continues to be a teaser but it bring in the focus on the Elves.  I am not sure how I fell about Legolas being a focus as he wasn't in the books but I can except that with the father being mentioned the son is likely to be there as well.  I hope that the movie is good and as I am starting to gear up for the holiday releases, now that the summer releases have gone by, I am starting to get really excited for the second installment of The Hobbit.
Anyone else excited?

Elysium: Trailer

This week the new Matt Damon future world movie comes out, watch the trailer below

This movie being released in august (which in my opinion is a bit of a dump month for movies) and coming after a very action movie/ blockbuster saturated spring and early summer I am hoping that this movie it a bit different from the others.  It seems a bit sci-fi-ish because of the technology and mechanical thing that gets attached to Matt Damon in order for him to be able to get to Elysium and using brains as storage devices for information which a lot of the recent movies have been (robots, spaceships, etc).  I like that this one looks a bit gritty and more dark but this might just be that it doesn't want to give away too much of what happens once the metal thing is attached to Matt Damon.  I like the juxtaposition of the destroyed dirty earth and Elysium but besides the basic concepts I do not really know much else about the movie.
Is anyone planning or excited to see this movie?

Pacific Rim (2013): Official Trailer #4

Tomorrow is the official release of the new movie Pacific Rim, see the official trailer # 4 below

The mid summer blockbuster is being released this weekend and although I am planning to see it, based on the trailers it seems like it is basically a movie slapped together to have huge robots fight huge aliens.  With a spring full of big blockbusters and action movies, I am interested to see where this one falls.  Since it was not released around any specific date I don't know how confident I am in it, but hopefully it will just focus on the action without overdoing it like other movies this summer.  Anyway with a saturated market lets see what it has to offer and if it can separate itself from the pack.
This trailer focuses on the two individuals who are connect with the robots to fight the aliens and how it is important that shows us the archetype of the follow warrior needed to come back because of the skills and need to be the good person that he really is.
Who is excited for this movie and plans to see it?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug: Trailer 1

Yesterday the first official trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was released.
See below:

To me this is more of a teaser trailer because all it does is wet my appetite for this movie to come out. With the ending of the spring blockbusters being released this weekend, I am ready to start gearing up for the movies I am excited for being released this fall.  What are your thoughts, is anyone excited for the second installment of The Hobbit?

Battle of the Movies: The World Is Ending 2013

Recently I have been seeing these two movie trailers a lot and due to the similar names and focuses.  Coming out first on June 12th is This is the End and then on August 23rd is The World's End.

Fist up is This is the End: See trailer below:

This movie seems to just be an excuse for a bunch of friend to get together, make a mockery of everything and make a movie.  It does seem like it might be fun and I think that I will end up seeing this one. I am intrigued to see what all these comedian guys will do now that they are all established but I am not expecting a whole lot.  I at least expect some type of toker moment in all the chaos.
This movie stars: James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera, Emma Watson and lots of guest appearances by others.

Next up and what I am more excited for is the new Simon Pegg and Nick Frost movie. Watch The World's End trailer here.

I tend to like Simon Pegg and Nick Frost movies so I am excited to see this one.  It seems like this group of old friends is going back to their home town to have a pub crawl ending at the World's End pub, throughout this crawl the discover that the town is being taken over by aliens but they don't want this to stop them making to the end of their crawl.

Is anyone planning to see either of these movies and which one, with similar tittles therefore are linked in min mind, will be better.  Both are comedies with a specific but slightly different target audience.

Man of Steel: Official Trailer #3

The new Man of Steel Trailer has been released. Watch below:

This trailer really helps to up my excitement for this movie, as it focuses on the villain Zod and the peril of the movie and Superman's need to be a hero.  I am super excited for this movie to just be released already.

Don Jon: Official Trailer #1

The first official trailer for Joseph Gordon- Levitt's full length writing and directing debut Don Jon (nee Don Jon's Addiction).  Watch here:

If you have heard anything about this movie, the trailer does not introduce any new information but you get to see (and hear) the actors in their characters.  It is interesting to hear Gordon- Levitt and Scarlet Johansson with their Jersey accents and it is weird because I don't think of them with that accent in my head.  It also introduces Julianne Morre, Tony Danza as supporting characters.

I have been excited about this movie since I heard about it when my sister was an extra on set and told me about it. I followed its success at its release at Sundance and the progression through reduction of its name.  I am very excited for it and hope it is as good as I have heard.

The trailer gives a basic set up of the movie, that Don Jon lives his life and has an addiction to porn.  He meet a girl who is obsessed with romance movies, and then there are problems due to his porn habit.  I am looking forward to the next trailer that will hopefully give a bit more.
